Sun Pulse Pulse Start Metal Halide Grow lamps were created by the GAS Technologies group of photo-biologists, plant scientists, mechanical and electrical engineers, gas chemists, and HID lamp designers. They are designed with true solar symmetry for true photochemical reactions in living organisms, greater molecular efficiency in operations, and better color rendering. Sun Pulse lamps are made with the highest quality and quality control.

* Available in Kelvin ratings of 3k, 4k, 6.4k, & 10k

* Designed to work with certified electronic and digital electronic ballasts

* Even lamp life approx (20,000 hrs) with little color shift or loss of FT-CD output

* Sun Pulse lamps are also available for 600W magnetic ballasts in the various colors!

You may find it odd we have there lamps however recommend CMH
however some of our customers have told Us they want to experiment.

If you think about it CMH is allot cheaper to you.
We make more on SP lamps but we like CMH for Results.

We are not here to make the lighting choice for you rather give you all the information we can and let you decide.
Please take our information with a grain of salt. We are only here to deliver the information, and recommend what we find to work
instead of selling to just sell.

The Light Chart is a guide to understanding when to use each lamp for each particular stage of growth.

SunPulse understands not all growers can afford 4 lamps for every lighting fixture, so a "one lamp system" recommendation is also indicated on the chart. It is possible to use a 4K lamp in a "one lamp system", as well as the 3K lamp.

The Retail/Commerical section of the chart refers to applications where high quality light for human vision is required or desired.

3K Lamps - SunPulse recommends the 3K lamp for the majority of flowering when growing annual plants.

4K Lamps - This is a Full Spectrum light good for all stages of growth. It's that white light that all living things love.

6.4K Lamps - A lamp popularly used for vegetative growth. Experience the differences for yourself!

10K Lamps - This special lamp is used for finishing and ripening. Rich in UV's for outstanding results the last 1-2 weeks of flowering.

This section is here for the customers benefit
(it will be moved to a more apropriate locaion on our site however for now,
Its best served Hear. As its from there fact page.
However it goes to all lamps.

The Question in the Center of the table and the answers on
The Left Side is from SP Fact Q&A page.
and on the right our responce and answer to the question,
As a Wholesaler, Retailer, Final-Customer (IE You)

Q. What’s a K?
A. When we mention a 3K, 4K, 6.4K or 10K lamp, the K refers to the Kelvin color temperature of the lamp. A red lamp has warmer colors, and a bluer lamp has cooler colors on the scale (2 is reddish, and 10 is bluish, for example.) Kelvin is simply put the color it appears to be not what colors are make up the overall aperance.
Read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_temperature
IE: I can show you 2 lamps with simular Kelvins however there actuall Color Makeup will be substantially different. IE you can have a overal color but no real energy where you think it would be.
basing a lamps capabilities just on Kelvin is not an option for us.

Q. I don’t see any of the traditional spectral graphs offered by other companies, where are they?
A.  A true graph of what a spectrum is, when you make mechanical light, includes the ballast, the bulb and the fixture all working together. If you change the ballast, the bulb or the fixture in that scenario, you subtly change the spectral information. It's not going to behave like the Sun behaves.

We don't fabricate spectral graphs to sell lamps. We don't pretend that one persons lighting system is like the next guys; ballasts and bulbs vary. Fixtures have a huge impact on how that light is, or isn't delivered properly. We don't make the graphs because the graphs that are typically provided are all tested in special chambers that the end-users don’t have at home.  We do make a graph with our bulbs, our lamps, in our fixtures, - all working together- and we produce the Sun to military specifications from 37" with that combination.

There answers are off the wall and require some explaining.
as its really mixing SPD and Total energy Output together

while the first statement is kinda correct If you are using an ANSI lamp and Ballast you can expect very close and infact maintain a 200K difference Guaranteed Output from your lamps (IE you have 100 lamps and if any are 200K more or less than spec they are replaced under warranty.*CDM400S51/HOR/4K/ALTO )
So that is not a good reason for not publishing them.

In the commercial lighting world (Non skewed or altered like some SPD Charts for horti and aquarium world) for LED, HID etc lamps they are what you would get on a variety of ansi ballasts.
IE if your lighting a museum Kelvin alone is meaningless as it doesnt tell you what colors make up the overal effect and you may be wanting specific spd ranged lamps.
thats basilcy saying in comercial world the spds are reliable as to what it says is what you get.

Now while I will admit if you change the wattage of a Lamp IE drive a 400 at 250 the spd will shif a bit and in a known way.
in short a lamps spd will not be affected enough from the 100 ballast mfrs out there. To honestly say there spd might not be what you get because your ballasts may ouput a few more or less watts or drive the lamp in a hair bit different way.

Fixture has no bearing on SPD in any way shape or form unless you are using a color shifting reflector system.

now more on  the 2nd paragraph on the left.(thats more of a rabit hole then i can fathom LOL)
the test chamber discussed is used only to measure the total energy produced by the lamp. Nothing to do with spd.

If you take a for example and test 100 Philips C400s or CDM400s/s51/hor/4k you will have an spd within 200k of the base spd and a very tight tolerance between each lamps spd.
This is why there is no excuse for not delivering a SPD.

The part of the sun to mil spec is just marketing. means nothing as most in the lighting world will tell you cri, kelvin, etc are about useless by them selfs and without spd its luck to get a lamp to work for what you need (IE photography Same K lamp can provide 2 way different pictures)

Just a note: Kelvin from one MFR to another IE Philips Sylvania GE have different color lamps even thought there rated at the same Kelvin, IE there CFL, Fluorescent and yes HID
